Abandoned Wench!

Played at Chippen Street Theatre for Sydney Fringe Festival

Mary, Esther and Charlotte are abandoned wenches. Convicted of outrageous crimes such as stealing a bonnet, they are sent to New Holland to serve out their days. Little do they know, they become the poster girls for female empowerment. This is a funky, modern day re-telling of their stories.

Written by Gina Cohen, directed by Jeremy Godwin, and starring Gina Cohen, Lisa Hanssens, Amelia Tranter and Jeremy Godwin.

"A really nice, really-really good surprise, this wonderful based on fact/re-written "mash-up"brings back to life some of the women of the title...lively, full of mischief, and finding humour in prison.....Tranter seizes the role and the audience's hearts...They may have been abandoned and forgotten but... [i]t would be a criminal mistake to miss the chance to meet MEC (Mary, Ester, Charlotte) during #SydneyFringe"   ~ Chuck Moore Reviews About

Altered Love

Played at Chippen Street Theatre for Sydney Fringe Festival

A psychological drama with a twist, where a woman takes drastic measures to save a dying marriage by undergoing cutting edge neurological changes to regenerate lost love with explosive consequences.

Written by Fran Bowick, directed by Steven Tait, and starring Michela Carratini, Edric Hong, Denise Metzger, Nathan Moss, Amelia Tranter, Kurtis Wakefield and Olivia Williams.

"Nail biting drama that takes a lot of chances – and makes them pay off." ~ Chuck Moore Reviews About

Jack Data

Played at the Old 505 Theatre as part of FreshWorks

Written and directed by Ruth Bell. With Amelia Tranter, Mathias Olofsson, Christine Greenough, Richard Cotter, Julian Ramundi & Elly Hiraani Clapin.

On Alice's 31st birthday her overbearing mother presents her with Jack Data, a "perfect man" robot, with reproductive options. At first Alice is horrified, but agrees to keep Jack after discovering that he cooks and cleans and "if you take off his shoe he turns into a Hoover."

Role of 'Alice'.

Jack Data is a comedic look into our future, to a time when robots become a viable substitute for human intimacy.

This play is not so much a cautionary tale about technology as a cautionary tale about human behaviour, and on what it means to be human.

SOME REVIEWS...

"[A] light play about a dark subject...intriguing...a modern comedy of manners about a subject in film and writing more often associated with male sexuality than with female reproduction.  - Sydney Arts Guide

"The cinematic quality of Jack Data makes this very funny play ideal for film or television... the near future is frequently mined for drama and comedy gold." - The Buzz from Sydney

"[A]n intelligent comedy that comments on feminism and the family unit whilst driving home the cautionary narrative of what it means to be human."  - On The Town

"[A] fantasy in which we meditate on the meanings of love, relationships and families, in a way that forces our rationality to escape the cliché." - Suzy Goes See

The Age of Entitlement

A pop-up, immersive theatre piece by Mongrel Mouth. Played a COMPLETELY SOLD OUT season in The Rocks.

Binary Stars & Best Lives

By  Samantha Hill. Directed by Michael Abercromby. With Katie Beckett, Nathalie Murray, Amelia Tranter and Jenae O'Connor.

Roles of 'Meg' and 'Journalist'.

"Amelia Tranter impresses in dual comedic roles, both memorable for different, and absurd, reasons. " ~ Suzy Goes See

IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, THEN LEAVE… And so Babe, fed up with the blokey jokes and the Logies and her meaningless WAG-life, takes it literally and shoots herself into a parallel universe. It’s Babe alone in a kitchen in space. Armed with just a few vague memories of Astrophysics 101, and her own Indigenous stories, she’s got to find a way to get back to her world and start living her ‘Best Life’. Luckily she’s got Meg and Lenny - multi-tasking, clean-eating, minimum-wage earning mums and self-help gurus - to lead her to enlightenment.

Binary Stars and Best Lives is a comic critique of the pressure on women to strive for perfect and nourishing lives. In a world where white men still take up the most space, Babe, Lenny and Meg fight to define their own identities, and to create purpose for their own lives. In this mash-up of quantum physics, inspiration boards and Women’s Weekly covers, you’ll have to ask yourself - Are you ready to receive the positive vibrational energy of the universe?

David Steinhoff, CEO, Presence Films, Fox Studios

Coaching - Business communication, Personal development & wellbeing

"Amelia has been helping me... [with] coaching advice around mindfulness and presentation skills. She has been excellent at communicating to me in accordance with my values and priorities. She is a warm, energetic and friendly person who is well liked by not only myself, but my staff. She is very knowledgable and has great life experience to share her wisdom as well as being empathetic to the needs of others.

Over the past 3 years she has helped me to journal and write more, gain more clarity around my thoughts, be present, as well improve my presenting and speaking, both on and off camera. She is an excellent presenter herself and extremely professional." Taylor Harrison, Owner Active Seniors Health Centres, Director Health Space Clinics, Founder of Giving Health Charitable Foundation

Coaching - Drama

"Amelia is a revelation! ... To teach drama well to children needs a special kind of person. Someone with a finely balanced sense of discipline vs. fun and lots of patience. When dealing with children ranging from 5-15 and on the odd occasion all in the same class, a teacher is required to keep the little ones focused and the older kids interested. In over 10 years of teaching I have seen no one display these kinds of attributes better than Amelia.

She is inspirational, irreverent, instinctive and most importantly: professional. Always prepared with a detailed lesson plan, and turns up on time! She is a self-possessed woman who exudes a sense of straightforward honesty, and from an employer's perspective, this is extremely valuable.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Amelia as an exceptional asset for any organization." Lindsay Moss, Director, StarTime Studios.
